Sangeeta Dodi’s Wool Shop in NKN Complex, Bedford, Coonoor: Dedicated to Yarn. Sells acrylic in 3ply 4 ply DK, fancy fur, fluffy, sparkly, multi-coloured… Takes hand-knitting/crochet orders. Sells handknitted stuff as well as the machine knitted readymade stuff from Ludhiana. Guides you on quantity required, needle size etc. More expensive than other local shops.

RK Emporium, Bedford (near Jograj), Coonoor: New shop. Knits on a machine. Takes machine knitting orders. Sells DK in various colours at very reasonable rates. No clue on needles, quantities etc. Winds yarn free of cost.

Jain Stores, Market, Coonoor: 4 ply and DK and all other knitting, sewing, craft supplies .. cloth, thread, buttons, lace, iron-on motifs. Very old shop so you can find all sorts of things newer shops dont have but Yarn selection is very basic. Also sells everything from umbrellas to washing machines so you are not likely to get any useful yarn related advice. Very good prices. (NO PARKING)
